Barre3, a boutique fitness franchisor headquartered in Portland, Oregon, celebrated its 15th anniversary by acquiring The Barre Code, a Midwest-based barre fitness company.
This strategic move expands Barre3’s global presence to 185 studios, significantly growing its footprint from its Portland origins in 2008. Barre3 has studios coast-to-coast in the U.S., along with locations in Canada and the Philippines.
The acquisition will see The Barre Code studios transform into Barre3-branded facilities over the next few months, with planned upgrades and class offerings. Additionally, the 220 instructors from The Barre Code will undergo Barre3 training to ensure a seamless transition.
Both businesses share an inclusive approach to fitness and wellness. Sadie Lincoln, Barre3’s CEO and co-founder, founded the concept to create a workout not tied to physical ideals, which resonates with the mission of The Barre Code. Barre3 has expanded its franchise offerings through in-studio experiences, on-demand workouts, retail ventures, and more.
Franchisees from The Barre Code expressed excitement about joining the Barre3 network, welcoming class upgrades and studio renovations, along with an enriched approach to mindfulness. This acquisition marks a promising new chapter for both brands, bringing their shared vision of balanced fitness to an even broader community.
